Ready for the big move!

Sharing today from Our Sunday Cafe,

Today the trucks and trailers are getting filled to the brim!

In the kitchen I am making a meal that will be easy to serve to the hungry workers that will help us unload at the house on the peninsula.

It is supposed to be a bit cool (but no rain thankfully), so I think a nice bowl of delicious Garage Sale Stew and a slice of Our Favorite Cornbread (with a bit of honey butter!) will hit the spot.

For those that want something else I am going to make a simple casserole of cheese tortellini with red sauce and ground beef. Garlic bread will go nicely on the side.

A fruit salad and cookies will do nicely. All of these choices are easy to make in advance and reheat easily, either on the stove or in the microwave. I prefer to serve home cooked food as a way to say thanks.

See you on the other side!

PS you can read about the first trip to the peninsula to deliver the motor home and about 100 boxes right here.

Our backyard has changed!

Finally we have signed the papers, we can pick up the keys on Saturday! We have planned a quick overnight trip for this weekend to pick up the keys, make sure the utilities are on and take the motor home over, in an attempt to free up some space at the main house. Whew!

Oh and I got a promotion at work also.....

Still looking towards the peninsula!

Shared from Our Sunday Cafe....just a little update!

Today is a great day! My family started out the morning with gifts and cards on the dining room table to wish me a happy birthday. And this evening we shall have dinner out to finish this day of celebrations.

But we still have yet to close on our house, at the peninsula. Sometimes these things do take time, but at this point of a project (especially one so drawn out) I tend to begin exhibiting fatigue and grumpy disappointment. (Sorry dear....)

The weather is breaking and blooms are showing up everywhere. A bit earlier than last year, as we did not have a very cold winter. The early blooms are very much appreciated however. I usually feel a surge of anticipation each spring to live as fully as one can, in the sunny days ahead.

And this year is no different.

I have claimed the kitchen for some cooking this weekend and hope to share it all here. One recipe that has caught my eye is titled How Danes Roll Cabbage. Seriously how can that recipe escape my kitchen? Plus the weather is still cold enough to enjoy a great cabbage roll for dinner.

And as far as signing a deed to the new house, I can't wait and will probably pester everyone with a post right here!

Old and new from far and wide March 2016

Hello, we hope your week is going great on this first day in March. Take a look at what friends and other blogger are up to currently or have done in the past. So much information from older posts on just about every blog, today I am sharing these.....

I love simple yet dramatic art pieces. This would be perfect just about anywhere including your own busy backyard. Possibly on the patio or other comfortable place you gather to relax. Made from pallet wood and a bit of paint (I love this message). There is not a link for instructions, so just let your own ability come through and you will have something special to enjoy.

Gardening time is just about here and these towers couldn't be easier! A bit of wood and some dirt and you are ready to enjoy your own herb garden

What a great way to get an early start on your garden. These little seed starting pots are perfect, as they do not require any transplanting. To be honest the transplanting part was never my favorite.......

Another great frugal and worthy project. It is important to use a wool sweater for this Pan Handle project. Wool is a good heat insulator and won't melt like a synthetic sweater will.

This stacked brick birdbath tower is so pretty. I am a sucker for the simple beauty that used bricks bring to a yard. This is another project that you can customize to your own preferences.
