Our Backyard includes, Port of Ilwaco Washington
The Port of Ilwaco is a busy place. Commercial fishing, charter fishing, a Saturday Market and a Community College. Add in permanent retail shops and eatery destinations, and you have a great place to explore on a summer's day.
The building you see in this photo is Gray's River Community College. The parking lot you see is used by the college and the Port. It is full on Saturdays!
There are several art galleries, book stores and lots of fresh fish to purchase.
This is the Marie Powell Gallery, I love that there are metal sculptures in the garden.
Lots of vendor's tents, with a wide variety of handcrafted pottery, dried jerky, soaps and unique creations of every kind.
This boat is coming back from a chartered outing.
It looks like everyone got a salmon. Update: they are probably albacore, we are deep in albacore season at this time!
We had lunch from this booth, and man was it good!
This man knows his pork and how to season it. Something tells me, this won't be the last time we visit Blue Collar Eats.....
